BEST AND WORST FOR 9/26/22 WWE RAW

Fatman here with another Best and Worst article. This time for the 9/26/22 episode of WWE RAW from the Rodgers Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Let’s get started!

WORST (BUT ALSO BEST): SPEAKING LIKE CHILDREN

Bianca Belair comes out with Asuka and Alexa (mmmm Alexa mmmm) and Bianca cuts a meh promo how Bayley can’t fight her own battles. That gets Damage Control to come out and Bayley saying that Bianca was groomed for his position. This is how the exchange went after:

Bianca: Nope

Bayley: Yup

Bianca: No

Bayley: Yeah

They were fighting like 5 year olds. The worst part is that this somehow leads to them having a Ladder Match at Extreme Rules. Then Bianca wants a match with the only member of Damage Control that’s actually in ring gear (IO SKY). I’m giving it a Best also because the ladder match will be the first women’s one on one ladder match on the main roster EVER. Also a Best because the match between Bianca and SKY was pretty great with Bianca getting a clear win.

BEST: REY’S BROKEN HEART

Rey cuts a promo about how he will ‘NEVER” fight Dominik and as a father he just wants what’s best for his son. Rhea is manipulating Dom’s heart and mind (and dick?). But Rey needs to focus on Rollins tonight. Effective stuff.

WORST: MIZFORCE

Miz is shown backstage with his security team “Mizforce” and tells them to go find “He who shall not be named”. Throughout different backstage segments you see some of Mizforce down and out. Then later Miz finds all of Mizforce piled up in the room he hasn’t left all night (?) and then Voldemort is shown hiding in Edmonton Oilers hockey gear and attack Miz. This wasn’t as terrible as some of their previous segments but it’s still not great. It still doesn’t make any sense. These are the clear low points in the show for weeks now.

BEST: KILLING TWO BIRDS WITH ONE GREAT MATCH

Dom comes down and distracted Rey so Rhea can attack Rey so Rollins can get the “submission” win. The Rey and Dom feud continues while Rollins getting the submission win makes him pompous going into his Fight Pit match at Extreme Rules against Riddle. The match was also great as well. Telling multiple stories well is an effective way to so use TV time.

BEST: US CHAMP IN CANADA

Riddle is shown backstage watching the Rollins match when Lashley comes in and wished Riddle luck in this match against Damien Priest. He also warns Riddle to not interfere in his matches again. Smells like a heel turn could be on the way for Lashley.

BEST: PANDA EXPRESS

Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano v. Alpha Academy was unsurprisingly great. Austin Theory looking like a goober again…wasn’t. But it does farther his feud with Gargano. Plus Strowman calling Theory to challenge Gable to a match next week and Gable looking like he shit is pants might be the highlight of the show.

BEST: THEY WERE THE BEST OF FRIENDS, THEY ARE THE WORST OF FRIENDS

Finn really really wants the Bullet Club to get back together (Apparently he doesn’t watch NJPW). Styles is like “Nah Fam”. Styles has a great match with Sami Zayn where he lost due to interference from Solo. The Judgment Day comes down after the match and attack Styles, puts a chair over his neck, and… does nothing. Balor says that he could have ended Styles’ career but since they are friends, he didn’t. Then he whispers “Bullet Club” in his ear.

BEST: OMOS, THE JOBBER KILLER

Omos gets a squash win over dollar store Jimmy Jacobs and half off Rich Swann. It’s an effective way to put over Omos as a monster. I wonder if there is another monster on the roster who can fight him?

BEST: THE POISON PIXIE RETURNS

It’s so wonderful to see Candice LaRae back. She’s a welcome addition to the women’s roster that is pretty deep on the Raw side. Her getting a win over Nikki A.S.H. and Nikki taking her mask off after the match seems to be the end of her superhero gimmick. I think it’s for the best.

BEST: JUDGMENT DAY NEEDS TO QUIT THE EDGE

The main event between Priest and Riddle was another great match on this episode of Raw. Riddle’s selling was top notch, Priest has become so underrated in this roll. Riddle “overcomes the odds” and gets the win but gets destroyed by JD. Edge comes down and says that he keeps coming back and doesn’t quit. Edge challenges Balor to an I-Quit match at Extreme Rules. Extreme Rules is shaping up to be one hell of a show.

That’s it for the Best and Worst for the 9/26/22 WWE Raw. I’ll be back Thursday for the Best and Worst of AEW Dynamite. You can find us here:
